We booked our wedding for April 2026 at Superior Shores & it will always be the perfect memory. It was a fairytale setting & the best possible venue to host all our family & friends. Booking at Superior Shores allowed us to keep the room block, welcome event, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception & catering all on-site & it was an exceptional experience for both us & our guests.
The planning experience was so easy with Nicole – she is an expert at event planning & did not leave out a single detail & her hospitality & friendliness is unmatched. The general manager, Eric, personally served us our meal on our wedding day & that small but thoughtful detail made such a big impact.
Sergio planned our menu with us & the food was truly outstanding! We had roughly 175 plates served & were blown away by the quality, portion size & consistency across every meal. The menu options were so unique & made our day extra special.
We hosted a separate cocktail hour in Vue North Restaurant which offers a stunning lake view from the balcony & is newly remodeled, such a beautiful addition to the day & our guests loved the photo ops! The ballroom was also renovated & offers a ground level view of the lake, yard games & a campfire for guests. The team worked so hard to maintain the yard space which is no easy task for April in northern Minnesota & they did a great job.
Additionally, the full front desk staff was at attention & well-prepped by Nicole for all 175 guests & accommodated every single one of their (& my!!) requests flawlessly. The kids loved to swim in the pool & spent so much time exploring the expansive outdoor areas.
Superior Shores is such a magical place for a wedding but the most incredible aspect is the outdoor pebble beach ceremony space. My husband & I feel truly blessed to have been married outside, in April, on the beach of Lake Superior, which made all our dreams come true, thanks to the endless efforts of Superior Shores. I could write a book on how exceptional our experience was & I would recommend this location for a charming weekend getaway with views & great food OR for the biggest day of your life!

Beautiful views, accessible rooms available, adjoining rooms available, many room/bed options available, including full suites for a great value & perfect for an extended stay, especially if traveling with pets. Pet friendly rooms are perfect.
Nearby activities
A beautiful outdoor area that includes a kid play area, a stream, a large backyard with yard games & campfires & the best part, access to a privately owned beach where you can fully appreciate the beauty of Lake Superior & go agate picking.
Safety
We have only ever stayed on ground level & I have always felt entirely safe. I have felt my vehicle is safe, the location is safe & rooms are secure. Comfortable walking outside in the dark & letting my dog out overnight.
Walkability
The Gitchi Gami is just at the end of the entrance & leads right to Two Harbors. A super fun trail to take both North & South. Lots of walking space within the resort areas as well.
Food and drinks
Vue North is such a luxurious restaurant! They have an incredible, upscale menu with specialty drinks that rotate. The newly renovated restaurant is exceptional & absolutely gorgeous. The steaks are amazing & I love their hand crafted sodas.
Noteworthy details
Special events: I cannot overstate how incredible the hospitality is at Superior Shores for both a weekend getaway & for a special event. Highly recommend booking at Superior Shores because every single aspect is executed to perfection!
